Everest Base Camp Trek is an adventurous and challenging trek, yet, technically it is easy. The trek is specially customized for the average trekkers who can easily walk for 7-8 hours per day. The trails from Lukla to EBC are moderate to strenuous and most of the trekkers can easily accomplish it without any obstacle, whereas few trekkers may feel difficulty to walk above 4000m due to altitude sickness.
Everest Base Camp is the challenging and adventurous trek that may cause many problems to the trekkers. Sometime, the trekkers may feel uneasy due to AMS. Even injuries may force to stop the trek. In these cases, the scheduled date will be a bit longer as we will take the sick trekkers to nearby health posts or take rest in lower elevation until the trekkers feel fine.
If you are trekking in a group, only sick or injured trekkers with some porters stay. Whereas, the trek continues with physically fit trekkers with our guides plus porters. The climate in the Himalayas is unpredictable resulting in flight delay or cancellation for hours to a few days; in this situation, the trekking schedule may be extended. We always request our trekkers to add some buffer days in the schedule date to enjoy the trek in the jovial manner.
