Nepal has a diverse topography. The southern plain region to the middle hills and northern mighty Himalayan ranges are the ingredients of wonderful Nepal creation. The Mount Everest Base Camp weather temperature is unpredictable and has adverse climatic conditions due to different land structures and altitude. The frequent destinations of trekkers and climbers, Everest base Camp, flaunts extreme climatic conditions. The fluctuation in temperature and weather of the place is dramatic and its always best to be prepared with warmer clothes and other essentials. The weather in the Everest Region is not always the best for trekking. If you trek in the summer season, heavy rainfall in the lower elevation makes the trail wet and slippery. The misty and foggy climate after rainfall may obscure the vision and there may increase risk while walking through the trails too. Likewise, in the winter season, the continuous snowfall makes the trail slippery; trekkers also feel difficulty in breathing in higher elevation. Even flight may be at high risk due to low vision. While trekking in off-seasons, always get adequate information about the trek and always hire the well-qualified guides No wonder, tucked at above 29000 ft. from the sea level, the base camp region has cold weather. (December-January-February) Day temperature: (-10) ◦c- 8◦c Night temperature(-7) ◦c- (-15) ◦c TRAIL: The winter comes with the strong cold winds, “Sireto” and an occasional snowfall. The snowfall decorates the majestic peaks and some parts of the trails too. Winter offers excellent crowd-free trails. One can greatly enjoy the sunny day but a chilly night can be memorable. The temperature rise and fall drastically within a day. Thus, one must be prepared for the fluctuating weather in winter.
(February-March-May) Day temperature: 25◦c Night temperature:(-)15◦c TRAIL: The most beautiful part of the year, Spring season adorns Nepal as a beautiful bride. The Rhododendrons bloom to fullest into red, white and more. The fragrance of the wildflowers and herbs spreads magic. Calm and clear weather gifts breathtaking mountain views. You really don’t have to worry about the slippery paths or unexpected downpour.
(June-July-August) Max temperature: 20◦c -25◦C Min temperature: (-3) ◦c –(-5) ◦C TRAIL: The sunny and warm Summer days have hot days and colder nights. You can always get the majestic view of Himalayas and also witness the dry barren pastureland on the way. Occasional rainfall coincides with the summertime in Nepal. (September-October-November) Day temperature: 12◦c-20◦c Night temperature: 3◦c- (-7)◦c TRAIL: The rainfall of Nepal greatly depends on the monsoon wind from the Bay of Bengal. Thus, rainfall occurs in dry winter in the western part and eastern part has summer rainfall as the monsoon. The trails are less crowded but the lower trails might face rainfall. The upper region though has lesser rainfall and spectacular views can be captured, the weather at night can be freaking cold. The two Autumn and Spring are the most loved season for Everest Base Camp trek.
