The Trekkers’ Information Management Card (TIMS) is compulsory for every kind of trek within the country. Some part of country boasting diverse biodiversity and ecosystems are under protected areas. Every trekkers must have TIMS card in Nepal. The card is for safety and security purpose and the fee goes partly for the rescue purposes and maintenance of trails. Free Individual Trekkers(FITs) get the green TIMS cards and group trekkers have blue TIMS cards. Requirements to obtain TIMS Card:
