The consumption of meat and other dairy products is unhygienic as it takes too much time for digestion and causes stomach inflammation. Accommodation on Everest Base Camp Trek:

Rooms:

With the popularity of the Everest Base Camp Trek, many tea houses are opened in EBC Trails. The tea houses in the Everest Region offer you the best quality service and better facilities than the lodges in the big cities. Most of the tea houses in the Everest Region have twin rooms which means most of the rooms have two beds. The trekkers need to share the room with fellow trekkers. But, in the off trekking seasons, you can get a single room on a special request. The room at the tea houses are small yet clean and you will get every single facility. Toilets/bathroom:

Almost every tea house in the EBC Trails have attached toilets and bathroom with shower facility. The tea houses in the lower elevation have western flush toilets.  But, in the higher region, some tea houses have western flush toilets, typical toilets with a manual flush, and traditional squat toilets too. Most of the trekkers in EBC Trek complain about the toilets. Some tea houses don’t maintain the cleanliness and standard of the toilets. Sometimes the attached bathrooms don’t have toilet paper and air freshener. But MMT guarantees you to arrange the room with the modern flush toilets. Shower:

Most of the trekkers prefer a shower to clean the sweat and to be fresh after tiresome high altitude Everest Base Camp Trek. The tea houses on the EBC Trails have installed gas geysers or solar geysers for the facilities of a hot shower. In some of the tea houses, you will get the facility of hot bucket water heated by the fire too. Most of the tea houses make you pay for the hot shower. Taking shower after sweaty long trek makes you fresh and relaxed. But, in the higher elevation, there is a possible risk of Hypothermia if your cold body immediately comes in contact with hot water. So, MMT’s consultants suggest our clients not to have a hot shower above 4,500m. Instead, sponge wash can be a better option to clean the sweat and dirt of the body.

Electricity and WI-FI:

The tea houses at Lukla, Namche, Phakding, and Tengboche have the proper facility of electricity. But beyond that, you can find solar electricity at Pheriche, Lobuche, and Gorakshep. Most of the tea houses in the trails don’t have a power socket in the room. There is a common socket in the living room and you have to pay some price to charge your mobile or any other gadgets. There are few tea houses that facilitate charging at the room without taking costs. But almost every tea houses in the higher elevation charge you an extra amount for charging your device.   To save the extra expenses while trekking in the Everest Region, you can carry your own portable solar charger. You can also have a power bank or extra batteries for your gadgets. Depending on the charger at the tea houses can sometimes be a foolish decision as you have to wait in a queue to get your gadgets charged. You also have to guard your gadgets and accessories while charging at the tea houses as there is a risk of getting theft or misplaced.

WI-FI:

Life has been different after the introduction of the internet. We can easily get connected with our friends and family through the internet although we are far from them. While trekking in Nepal, you can buy a 3G-4G sim card of NTC or N-Cell at superstore Thamel. The 3G-4G sim card easily gets connected up to Namche. But, beyond that, the 3G-4G sim-card may not work properly. You can purchase the Wi-fi card to get easy Internet Access on Everest Base Camp Trek. The Wifi card is easily available at Namche and the price of the sim card and wifi card is cheap and affordable too. Everest Base Camp Food Drinks Shower and WIFI facility Almost every tea house in the Everest Base Camp Trails has internet access and you can use the wifi/internet by paying some amount. There are numerous places in EBC Trekking trails where we can get a free WIFI connection. But, the wifi at the tea houses may be slower as there are many internet users using the internet at the same time. So, the better option for you is to buy a sim card and the wifi card while trekking in the Himalayas. The wifi card has greater internet speed and you can easily upload the photos on the social sites from the Everest Base Camp.
